Senior Home @ Ecuador
In Summer 2019 I travelled to Quito, Ecuador to volunteer at a local senior home called, “Albergue San Juan de Dios” with the outreach program, “Volunteer Connection Ecuador”. I worked in the kitchen each day, cleaning and preparing food, and I also served meals to elderly patients. I originally came to Ecuador to practice Spanish, but felt swept away by the immense compassion and the beauty of the Ecuadorian culture. I still keep in close contact with Susana, my host mother, and the memories I had there are something I will cherish forever.
